Madelyn Rose Talks Debut Single, Musical Journey

Rooted in a theme of empowerment and rediscovering self-worth post breakup, Madelyn Rose’s debut single, Taillights Fade, tells the story of turning heartbreak and on it’s head and moving forward, rapidly.

Recently, we had the chance to chat with Rose about her new single, musical journey, and more!!

Worlds of Country: When did you know that music was something you wanted to pursue?

Madelyn: Since day one, I have always been obsessed with country music for as long as I can remember.  When I was a toddler, I would watch Jason Aldean music videos on my parent’s computer for hours.  That interest in music led me to start playing piano when I was four, and then into singing a couple years later.

Worlds of Country” Once you knew, what was your first big step towards making this dream a reality?
Madelyn:
I learned to write, record, produce, and mix/master my own songs, which grew into releasing my own album at fourteen.  Soon after this album was released, I gained the attention of my now manager, Gold Mountain Entertainment.

Worlds of Country: How would you describe your musical style and who would you say most influenced your style?
Madelyn:
Country music is definitely my genre.  I have so many inspirations in my life, but my biggest is Carrie Underwood.  I have always respected her tremendously, from her powerful vocals to the stories she tells through her songs.  I love how she hasn’t changed her personality from the rise of a small town girl to a star.

Worlds of Country: What inspired your debut single, Taillights Fade?
Madelyn:
I was on zoom with my producer Justin Klump and co-writer, Lauryn Tauber, and we didn’t really have an inspiration to start with.  We took a few minutes to brainstorm, and Lauryn found a post on Instagram about watching taillights fading and the feeling it gives you.  I had recently been writing about a break-up, so we decided to combine the two ideas.  The game changer was how we turned the taillights fading idea into a positive thing for the singer and listener.

Worlds of Country: What about this song stuck out to you and made it the right one to release as your debut label release?
Madelyn:
I’ve had so many talented artists working on this song with me.  I love how it offers confidence for anyone going through a breakup and I wanted to share that with others.  Overall, we couldn’t be happier with how the song turned out!

Worlds of Country: What’s next for you?

Madelyn: I am working on the next steps for the future releases.  I am hopeful to be working on a bigger project by summer of 2023!
